AES honors Dr. Michael Santucci with Fellowship Award
At its annual convention in New York last week, the Audio Engineering Society (AES) presented Sensaphonics President, Dr. Michael Santucci, with its Fellowship Award. The award was given in recognition of Dr. Santucci's devotion to hearing loss prevention and research, and for pioneering work in in-ear monitoring.
As Chair of the AES Committee on Hearing and Hearing Loss Prevention, Santucci has worked tirelessly to promote hearing health within the audio community. He also created and ran the first-ever AES International Conference on Music-Induced Hearing Loss in 2012, bringing together audio engineers, hearing health professionals, and academic researchers to explore new technologies for the measurement and prevention of music-related hearing issues. Most notably, this has raised awareness of the importance of hearing health significantly within both AES and the broader pro audio community.
The Fellowship Award is given to an AES member who has rendered conspicuous service or is recognized to have made a valuable contribution to the advancement in or dissemination of knowledge of audio engineering or in the promotion of its application in practice.
Sensaphonics would like to thank AES for this recognition, and to congratulate Dr. Santucci on this well-deserved award.
